Blood orange season! I've been eating them on their own lots and also in this winter salad inspired by one of Bernadette's beautiful posts. I used:
arugula/spinach
beets
pomegranate seeds
blood orange sections
goat cheese
hazelnuts
+
a drizzle of olive oil/red wine vinegar
sea salt
Pretty and delicious.
And, here's a little Blood Orange for the ears, too ;)

Ooooh I have yet to try blood oranges. Thanks for the food inspo!

Although it is short, blood orange season has to be my favourite. I just can't get enough. This season I've been making heaps of blood orange curd and freshly squeezed blood orange juice with prosecco. I'm going to have to try this salad, it looks oh so good.
ReplyDeleteHi! Stumbled on to your blog through links. We don't get a lot of blood orange over here but the recipe seems so good I may just try it with regular orange! I wonder if it tastes as good as it looks in your lovely pictures..
ReplyDeleteIt's sound good.
